again I am redesigning this website. This probably means very little to
most people, because I don't think a whole lot of people ever look at
this website.
What I plan on using this website for is: Mailing List (First example of self-promotion) Join my mailing list by clicking here. I promise I won't send out a ton of e-mails or jokes that have been passed along a million times. Biography I have been playing guitar for twenty-seven years. Probably a little longer, but the first couple of years I didn't get very far. I've played in various bands through the years and currently play with a few different bands. My musical preferences are varied, but what I mostly like is simple rock and roll or roots of rock (blues, rythym and blues, old country, swing.) I think my earliest favorite acts were Bill Haley and the Comets and Chuck Berry. I also always seemed to have been a Beatles and Beach Boys fan, but I can't remember when I first heard them. I quickly got into other bands like George Thorogood and the Destroyers, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones. I soon realized that I was basically a fan of blues and began to discover many of the greats in blues. I also really began to get into surf music. Today, I listen to a lot of rock and roll, blues, surf, rockabilly, and some other variations. I tend to prefer "simple" music, so I never really got into Rush or Yes. I HATE music with a message, unless the message is having fun. While I do enjoy some artists who like to preach, I just ignore their message and avoid their live shows. Why does playing guitar make someone an expert on social justice or world peace? Bands My main band is the Alligators Blues Band. We started back in late 1993 and have had a few different members and our style has varied through the years. Former member of the Alligators, Jeremy Fox and I recently began to play together as Teachers Lounge. Jeremy and I have done acoustic duo gigs through the years and we decided to pursue more gigs and give ourselves a name. Jeremy plays sax, bass and harmonica and I play guitar and sing. I also 'work with Blooper' of the Reading Phillies Mascot Band. Apparently mascots do not reveal their true identity, so I am officially Bloopers rodie, although he plays my guitars and sounds a lot like me. I also recently played with Jeremy Saul and the Infidels. This band plays rockabilly and includes John Collevechio from the Alligators. Not sure if this will be a steady gig or just a few one nighters. I really like playing the rockabilly though! |
